Lottery Glossary
The following definitions will help you
understand some of the terms used in our lottery guide:
Best number analysis – The determination
of the frequency of a particular number in the lottery
draws.
Best number – The most frequently
drawn number.
Bias – A tendency – sometimes
artificially induced - for an event to happen more frequently
than is statistically normal.
Box – A bet on a combination
of numbers as a particular group.
Cluster analysis – The evaluation
of numbers according to which ones are frequently drawn
together.
Frequency analysis – An assessment
of the likelihood of a number being drawn, based on
the number of times it has previously been drawn.
Hot number – A number that has
statistically been less frequently drawn and –
some would argue – therefore more likely to be
drawn in future.
Positional digit analysis – An assessment of which
position each ball gets drawn in.
Skip / Hit chart – A diagram
that illustrates the dates and frequency of when a particular
ball is selected.
Regression analysis – A method
of tracking and evaluating lottery biases.
Wheeling system – A method of
betting more than six numbers without covering every
single possibility.
