Lotteries
As with every other type of competition,
you can’t actually win the lottery unless you
buy a ticket. People often complain that they never
win anything. How many of those people actually ever
enter? So whether it’s a lucky dip, the daily
draw, the super rollovers, an occasional ticket or a
regular syndicate, the first rule of lotteries is buy
a ticket if you want to win it.
The second rule of lotteries is join a syndicate –
it is a good way of increasing your chances of winning.
Most syndicates are formed in the workplace or at a
club, where a number of people will chip in money each
week to buy a larger number of tickets than they could
afford individually. This has a great impact on the
chances of winning and is probably something you should
do even if you want to play the lottery on your own
as well.
That’s pretty much the main piece of advice when
it comes to winning lotteries. There is no method of
winning. However, there are things that you can do to
reduce the odds of sharing your prize with strangers
if you do win. It may be selfish, but if you weren’t
you wouldn’t be reading this in the first place…
